Novo Nordisk Case Study
OfficeMax Workplace Interiors and architectural design firm SABArchitects Inc. (SABA) recently assisted Novo Nordisk, a healthcare company and world leader in diabetes care, with designing the interior of the company’s new Inflammation Research Center. They were tasked with creating an office space that was functional and open, yet somewhat private. The team enlisted the help of furniture manufacturer Teknion to provide its Optos® seamless glass wall system and furnishings for executive offices, private offices and workstations. For laboratory seating, lobby lounge furniture, the reception station and conference rooms, OfficeMax Workplace Interiors and SABA brought together multiple furniture lines that met the aesthetic and functional needs of Novo Nordisk. The space received an honorable mention at the International Interior Design Association’s Northern Pacific Chapter 2009 INawards in the Design IN mass category for commercial office spaces.
“The result was exactly what we envisioned — a beautiful, functional workspace delivered at a good value and in a timely manner. The response has been extremely positive from staff, corporate headquarters and
guests alike.” — Theresa Proctor, Novo Nordisk
Satellite Healthcare Case Study
When OfficeMax Workplace Interiors and San Francisco-based DGA Architects were asked to design the new corporate headquarters for Satellite Healthcare, the objective was clear: Create a modern, functional workspace that reflected the company’s new high-end home. Because the space was completely clad in glass, OfficeMax Workplace Interiors recommended a blend of Teknion’s District® and Leverage® lines of workspace furniture for the open areas, frosted glass for privacy between the workstations and multi-purpose elevated credenzas. OfficeMax Workplace Interiors ordered furniture, coordinated with the contractor to ensure furniture installation and placement, and supervised specialty work. The finished product was an elegant, yet dynamic, space that complemented the strong architecture of the building and its surroundings.
